Being supported with the proper tool has sped up decision-making and led to a precise portfolio planning and budget distribution process.
AMAG Group AG is the leading automotive dealer and related service provider company in Switzerland, employing more than 6,600 people in 82 locations, covering the entire country. Their focus is on selling and leasing high-quality automobiles while also providing comprehensive connected services.
The client already had a Project Portfolio Management tool (ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management) previously implemented based on their specific needs.
The system in-place was intended to cover the entire process, from the requirements definition to managing the whole portfolio. However, the implementation deviated from the standards and best practices to such an extent that the result was a complex and difficult-to-use system that could not be operated in the long run.
The approach's main goal was to identify all the relevant areas and gaps in the customer’s existing processes and the supporting tool and get a picture of all the adjustments needed.
This led to the decision to “Go greenfield”, meaning rebuilding all modules from the start and incorporating every stakeholder’s needs into the standard features of the ServiceNow platform.
Being supported with the proper tool has sped up decision-making and led to a precise portfolio planning and budget distribution process.
The overall lifecycle of investments contributing to the company-level strategies is now visible and accessible, starting from the smallest ideas and building up to demand-, project-, and program executions across all the different business units.
