Swarovski is one of the world's leading manufacturers and distributors of quality crystal glass jewelry. It is present in 120 countries and employs more than 25,000 people. Due to its size and multinational nature, the company has a wide range of different management and support systems, with each division typically using different solutions.
The areas within the company had different Project Portfolio Management maturity and correspondingly varying complexity of systems, many of which are not able to adequately support high level decision making.
Due to the lack of proper tooling support, Swarovski had difficulties in overviewing resource and budget distribution over their portfolios, making investment related decisions difficult.
After the initial process assessment and understanding of the overall business needs, a generic process framework was developed following the standard features and solutions of ServiceNow's SPM module.
Within a short timeframe, a completely new ServiceNow SPM solution was implemented in areas that previously used outdated tools to manage requirements, projects, resources and portfolios.
Following the standard approach and leveraging the existing features of the SPM module resulted in a stable and easy-to-use system within the company, which can be quickly enhanced based on the needs of other later joining areas.
