What is DORA?

The Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) is an EU regulation that entered into force on January 16, 2023, and applies from January 17, 2025. Its goal is to strengthen IT security in financial institutions and ensure resilience against major operational disruptions. DORA standardizes operational resilience requirements across the financial sector, covering 20 different types of financial entities and ICT third-party service providers.
